Today at lunch, all my colleagues were discussing a news story about how the Thai PM Samak had a go at a group of chasing reporters after they waited to interview him outside a food market loo for half an hour. Predictably, he was acting like a total dick and the footage below can confirm this:

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out how much Samak enjoys confrontation with absolutely anyone and everyone. This guy’s always in trouble with the media for the wrong reason. If you think Thaksin talked so much shit as PM, trust me he’s not in the same league as Samak! But I guess in a way the media must love him because he’s the ultimate nutcase who always gives them attention-grabbing, nonsensical stories - the sort of thing enjoyed by the Thai masses.

Still, the more qualified electorate, if I can put it that way , still can’t quite believe how the many millions of Thaksin supporters, mostly in the impoverished rural countryside of course, voted him and his party into power simply because he declared himself an ally to Thaksin. Now only 6 months into power, the economy is in turmoil and everyone wants him out because they now realise he’s not here to help anyone but Thaksin and his cronies.

In fact, he’s concerned about nothing but charter amendments of the Constitution which he hopes will have the political ban on his friends lifted. That’s part of the deal he had with Thaksin in exchange for the funding of his People’s Power Party, according to leading government critics

Anyway if you know a thing or two about British politics, you might share my view that Samak is actually a reminder of one particular politician back in the UK. That’s right - it’s John Prescott. These two politicians share so much in common if you ask me e.g. they eat all the pies and gorge on everything. They’re highly confrontational, foul-mouthed and never learn to listen. The only difference is that Prescott is a bit more physical:

Now we all know that, at the end of the day, most politicians, wherever they come from, are all the same - a laughing stock - and the evidence to support this is simply overwhelming!
