Fancy a Free Bus Ride, Anyone?

As part of the campaign to help ease the economic pressure fuelled by rising oil prices which have hit the poorest the hardest, the Thai government has introduced a plan to provide free bus rides for commuters in Bangkok. Whether or not this is a political move ahead of the highly imminent parliament dissolution, some believe it will one way or the other benefit those on the lowest income a great deal by saving them a bit of money.
I normally hardly use buses so this political stunt won’t affect me too much. But I reckon it would be cool to be able to force your way onto one of these for free every day:

The reality is you won’t because the more modern buses like the above are relatively rare and also privately run so their fares will still apply. However, if you really fancy a free ride, you will have to settle with one of these:
Just imagine how pleasant it will be standing for hours in traffic in the baking hot bus with no air con and getting absolutely squashed like sardines in a bloody tin!
