Buddhist Holidays …..
This week we have two back-to-back Buddhist holidays which are observed throughout Thailand and sure enough the not so-much-needed alcohol ban is in full swing! Naturally for a religious country like Thailand, quite a few people will visit temples to do their moral deeds and offer foodstuffs and shit to the monks residing there.
As a scientist I don’t give two shits about religion but nevertheless I’m still taking advantage of such unnecessary festivals by taking time off work for a bit of a rest and, yes, a couple of quick cold ones 
In Thailand it can be rather unusual to tell peole that you have no religion and some people can get seriously offended and brand you an evil bastard if you tell them that. They argue all religions teach us to be good and keep your mind clean. And yes, you shouldn’t be getting pissed. I say bollocks to that!
It’s been a busy week at work and I’m gasping to death and no one is going to stop me having my beer. Cheers!
